Duke is completely vetted, to include a bath & brushout and he had his teeth cleaned. He walks well on a leash. He is friendly with other dogs, large & small. Duke is a very nice, affectionate collie and is adjusting well to his foster home. second photo

Annie is a 21 inch, 45#, 5 year old shaded sable & while female collie. She is from a shelter and had recently had a litter. She was very ill when we first acquired her and had to have some heavy doses of antibiotic before she could be spayed. She has only been a house dog for a week and apparently that is all she ever will be again. She is excellent in the house, completely housebroken, goes in and out the dog door and does not chew on anything. She walks very well on lead and will crate when you ask her to. Her coat is in very bad shape due mostly to the recent litter. With good brushings and nutrition she should be just stunning in about 6 months. She is very tolerant of the other dogs - especially this irritating puppy we have. She is just a tad food aggressive but that has only been noted after her getting her appetite back and I am sure this will subside in time. Very pretty "Lassie" like and very laid back little girl - what more could anyone want? Adopted! 8/1/04

He can distinguish light from dark, can see large objects and go up and down stairs with no problems. But he does not see well (we have had his eyes checked). He needs a stable environment that would be completely secure with loving people that understand he does not see well. He has lots of love to give to his 'forever' home. Adopted! 7/18/04

She is sweet and very eager to please, but due to the severe neglect she suffered during the first year of her life, she still has a lot to learn. not completely housebroken yet and still need help with her manners. She is very loving and starved for affection, it's just that no one ever spent any time with her and she does not know what is expected of her. They are both fully vetted and are still recovering from malnutrition and mange. Adopted! 7/7/04

Sammy Male, light sable & white, about 8 years old. Sammy came to us from the Nashville area where he was found abandoned and covered with burrs. He had obviously been someone's pet, as he was already neutered, healthy and housetrained. Sammy has impeccable house manners and he likes cats. He is fine with other dogs, large & s mall, but would enjoy being an only dog. Sam has a bad back and would do best in a house without stairs. He enjoys short, slow walks. This easy-care collie boy is looking for a retirement home. Adopted! 7/5/04

Bonnie [Collie/Golden Retreiver mix] is about a year old (maybe younger), 47 pounds. She has very soft, medium-length hair and a fluffy collie tail with a white tip. Bonnie was rescued from a rural shelter. She was very frightened there and at the vet's office. Since her arrival in a foster home, she has learned that life is good and she is now a very happy, loving dog! She adores her collie cousins and learns from them. She uses doggie doors and is doing great with her housetraining. She scurries into her crate at meal time. Bonnie is not a barker. She would be good in a home with another dog who needs a gentle companion. Bonnie is fully vetted, to include a dental and microchip. He was sooo frightened that the nice people there called rescue right away to come and get him. Buddy (yes, that was his name and it's all he has left now that is familiar to him) was already neutered and parasite free! We gave him a bath, dental, microchip and all his shots. Buddy Bear now wants a new home -- someone who will not abandon him. More information on his personality to come as he adjusts to his foster home. So far he has been fine with the other dogs, has not been food aggressive and knows some basic obedience. He's glad to be out of the dog pound! Adopted! 3/1/04

Molly. Tri female, about 2 years old, 50 lbs. Molly is a sweet, playful little girl who gets along fine with other dogs, large and small. She is not a barker or chewer, enjoys her nightly leash walks and really likes living inside the house.
